The LGBTQ community has always been a celebrated part of Facebook. We know representation and having a community matters — whether that be LGBTQ people sharing photos that can change hearts and minds, or using our products, like
Facebook Groups, to find a supportive network.
Today and in celebration of the kick off of Pride month in the US, we are launching new ways to express yourself and show your pride on Facebook, Messenger and Instagram. We know that people in the LGBTQ community are supporting one another worldwide and year-round, which is why we’re making all of these effects available throughout the year:
The ever-popular Pride Profile Frames are back again. Check out facebook.com/profilepicframes and search “fbpride.” Choose a frame you like, reposition it and set how long you want to keep it on your profile. Then, click “Use as Profile Picture” to post. Your friends can see the frame and will also be given the option to try it too.
Show your pride by personalizing your text posts, photos and videos and share your creation to Stories or News Feed. Check out our Pride-themed text background, or swipe to the left of News Feed for Pride masks, effects, and frames in Camera, or the stickers icon to access Pride stickers.
During Pride month, you can add some love to your conversations with Pride-themed AR filters, frames and stickers in the Messenger Camera. You can use the camera to take a picture or video, customize it, and then send it to a friend or in a group chat. Messenger also has several sticker packs to help you share your support.
Mention your #rolemodel in your stories and share how they inspire you. You can also celebrate Pride with rainbows in type mode, stories stickers, live reactions and hashtags. Learn more about these features here.
Finally, be sure to check out our LGBTQ@Facebook page where throughout the month of June we will feature stories from the LGBTQ community, tips on how to use our products, where to find LGBTQ celebrations in your area, and updates from musicians, nonprofits and more.
