Different Teen Account Experiences
You may already be enrolled in a Teen Account on Instagram. While you need to enroll in a separate Teen Account for each app, there are a few key differences between the Teen Account experience on Facebook / Messenger and on Instagram.
Facebook/Messenger
Privacy: Individual settings will be defaulted to the most restrictive settings across areas like who can see your profile details and content, who can engage with your posts, and who can message you; teens under 16 will need to set up supervision and request parental approval to make changes to these settings
Contact: Can only be messaged by your friends or people you follow, have messaged with before, or who have your contact info
Content: Sensitive, low-quality, and unoriginal content will be filtered out of your feed and Reels tab
Time Management: Daily limit of 60 minutes and Sleep mode enabled between 10PM and 7AM on Facebook; no default restrictions on Messenger, however parents can set parental controls
Bullying & Harassment: Tags / Mentions / Reels Remixes will be restricted to people you follow and your friends
Privacy: If you are under 16, your account will be defaulted to private and you will need to set up supervision and request parental permission to change your account privacy
Contact: Can only be messaged by people you follow or have messaged with before
Content: Sensitive content will be filtered out of your feed and Reels tab
