Facebook is rolling out new features to give you fun and easy ways to connect with your fans, including fan challenges and custom top fan badges, helping you rally your community and generate buzz around topics and milestones that matter to you.
As a creator, your connection with your audience is everything. We’re focused on building tools that help you engage your audience in unique and interactive ways to foster authentic communities around your content. We recently launched fan challenges and custom top fan badges on Facebook. These tools don’t just help you engage with your audience, they also bring your community together so that your fans can find each other, share what they love, and make real connections. Here’s what to know.
Kick off a challenge for your fans
Fan challenges enable an easy but powerful way to connect with your community over a shared moment or topic that matters to you. Invite your fans into the creative process by setting a prompt and empowering your fans to create and share content with you and each other. Challenges can be as simple as sharing your morning routine or a recipe, but you can also use them to prompt people to talk about and share content around an important moment that matters to you—like events, launches, or milestones—to build excitement with your fans. Challenges can run anywhere from a quick 7-day burst to a multi-month run—so you can pick the timing that feels right for you and your community.

Fans can easily join your challenge and browse other fan entries in a dedicated feed within your challenge homepage, a space for them to interact with each other over challenge content. At the end of the challenge, you can easily recognize top posts and participants and show appreciation for their support. See how entertainment creator Kalen Allen used a fan challenge to have fans share their dreams and encourage one another to achieve their goals.
Fan challenges are currently available to all eligible creators globally with at least 100,000 Facebook followers or more—see additional information here. You can create a challenge by navigating to Professional dashboard > Engagement > Fan engagement.
Use custom top fan badges to nickname your fans
Every creator with at least 100 followers can access the standard top fan badge to recognize their most engaged followers. If you have more than 1 million followers, you can level up fan recognition with your own custom top fan badge, which lets you choose a nickname that appears as a branded badge next to your most loyal supporters when they comment on your posts—a special, personalized way to recognize and celebrate them.

You can find additional information about custom top fan badges here.
To help you better understand and nurture an engaged community, we’re also rolling out new metrics that help you track the number of top fans over time. These insights will give you a clearer picture of how your engagement and recognition efforts are deepening audience connection and loyalty. You can find these new metrics by navigating to Professional dashboard > Insights > Engagement.

We’re excited to continue making Facebook a place for creators to build meaningful communities. We can’t wait to see how you bring these tools to life and keep building deeper connections with your fans.
